What is a Polygraph Examination?
Your reputation is valuable and Credibility Matters offer a cost-effective way of protecting it. Polygraph testing is a tried and tested method of establishing if somebody is telling the truth.
The UK police, and law enforcement organisations around the world have used them for many years and trust mandatory polygraph testing to monitor the most dangerous people in society such as high-risk terrorism offenders and sex offenders released on licence. Polygraph testing protects people.
A Polygraph Examination generally takes up to two hours. It starts with an informal interview during which the subject is encouraged to be honest about the relevant matters (e.g. employment history, previous criminal behaviour, incident under investigation etc.).
This is followed by the test itself in which specific questions are asked of the subject whilst physiological readings are recorded. The examiner will then use these readings to make an assessment as to whether the subject has answered the questions truthfully.
Finally, the examiner will discuss the results with the subject to resolve any anomalies.
